I've heard the music at the gospel brunch is great but the food is mediocre.

I went a few years ago. I really didn't want to go to a chain type place while in New Orleans, but my husband had his mind made up. We had a great time. The singing was fantastic!!! The food was fine; basic brunch type fare. But we didn't go for the food, more for the music.

I did a little research on this topic and chose the HOB for a Sunday gospel brunch because of favorable reviews I've read. Also heard good things about the Praline Connection.

yeah- I guess that is what i figured i would hear. The draw is the music rather than the food. I'll look into Praline Connection, thanks

I have never been to the brunch at P Connection but have eaten their food. Very good "soul" food. When we had dinner there it was a modern jazz type entertainment. I still like Court of Two Sisters jazz brunch or Commander's Palace. Having grown up in the Quarter I have seen many changes but these have stayed pretty good.

We did the Sunday Gospel Brunch at HOB New Orleans in 2004. I remember the food was good, but the entertainment was great! (As were the mimosas.) Everyone in attendance was up participating. HOB is a quality establishment. We went to the one in LA a few years previous, and it was just as good.
