We are going to Ft. Lauderdale with a few friends at the end of March and are looking for some of the higher-end/best restaurants in the area. We have been there before and will be staying in Pompano beach at a rental house, but we've really only been to the chain-type of restaurants and would be looking for something a little nicer this time to take our friends to. Any suggestions in the Pompano Beach/Lauderdale area?

You didn't mention the type of food you were interested in.... but, for Italian food I recommend Veszievos on Atlantic Blvd.in Pompano Beach just west of the intracoastal bridge and Jackson's Steakhouse on Las Olas Blvd. in Ft. Lauderdale for steaks/seafood.

There is a NEW one on Las Olas called Johnny V's-- menu looks wonderful for dinner..

We had lunch there on Sunday and it was FANTASTIC!! Try it!!

Just was in that area last weekend. We had a great meal at a restaurant called Thai Spice. I'm pretty sure we were in Pompano Beach. Sorry, I just followed the car in front of me being driven by a local. The seafood was superb. The waiter was excellent. We had a great time.
