Need Help for last night of Honeymoon in Oahu!
Hello, All of you have been invaluable to me as I have been planning my honeymoon for this July. We are spending 7 nights in Kauai, then 4 nights on the Big Island. The only thing I have left to book is our last night in Oahu. Our flight will arrive around 2:30, then we have one night to enjoy before we fly back out to Boston the following evening (BUT not until 8:00p.m.)--So we'll have that whole day for sunning/exploring, etc. Originally I thought we'd want to do Pearl Harbor, but I'm not sure that we'll want to deal with mass tourists and crowds on our last day. Might be better to relax...we'll probably play it by ear. I can't decide between the Waikiki area, or the North Shore. Help! Also, we wanted to 'spluge' a little (not TOO much!) since it'll be our last night!! Any suggestions???

We stayed at the Hilton Hawaiian Village and it was just gorgeous. I will highly recommend that you visit Pearl Harbor while you are there. That was on one our most memorable moments from our trip. If you arrive early (by 9) , you will not have crowds to deal with. You can see the entire memorial within a couple hours. It is not to be missed. Then you will have the rest of the day to relax.
Why aren't you going to Maui?!! Our favorite island from our honeymoon trip!

We stayed at the Halekulani (on Waikiki) for the first 3 days of our honeymoon last august. It was a very gracious, elegant place -- a nice way to end your HM. We booked a package, but I suspect you could get a garden/pool view room for about $300.
Also, we were surprised with the North Shore -- I had somehow missed in my research that the summer has no waves. Nice place to check out, but no surfing to watch, so not sure you'd want to stay there. It would probably take you about 35-40 min. from the airport.

Congratulations on your upcoming wedding! My husband and I spent a week in the North Shore and it was magical. Ok, it was in the winter and the waves were huge, but there's a spirit there that you just don't get among the tourist masses of Waikiki. That's just my opinion and totally worth the drive.

I second AES for the Halekulani. I have researched the hotels on Waikiki extensively and this Hotel came up #1 9 out of 10 times. It offers you what your are looking for to end a wonderful honeymoon. It is on the expensive side but very elegant and intimate amoung the craziness of Waikiki. You can venture out and see the sights but when you return to your hotel you can relax. I've read and heard MANY times that the hotel also has one of best restuarants.I haven't stayed there yet - will be going in September, but I too wanted a great end to our honeymoon. After I made my top 3 picks from each island, I read every thing I could on them (on the net and the bookstore) until I narrowed it down.
The other hotel that is beautiful BUT out of the way is the Mandarin Oriental which is the on north side of Diamondhead. They have a new restuarant there that looks very romantic for a last night dinner.

Check out the Cabana Seaside Grill - very intimate looking.
Good luck. Let us know how it all turns out.
And congratulations on your upcoming wedding!!!

Thanks everyone!! I think we might go with the Halekulani, if we can afford it. It would be nice to spend our last night at such a luxurious place! Does anyone know of any way to get a discount at this hotel (i.e., Starwood Card, AAA, etc.)??? Thanks again.

You can always call the hotel directly and talk with the reservations mgr or general mgr - explain that its your last night of the honeymoon, etc and they may cut you a deal - free upgrade, champaign, food credit, etc. Its always worth asking.
