Kiawah, Hilton Head, Amelia Island?

Hi All,
Looking at these islands for a week's vacation the last week of March or first week of April (prior to Easter). Will be coming from Boston area for an early-spring getaway and have never been to the area. Hoping for any thoughts/recommendations between these islands. A few questions:

Will the weather/water temp be significantly different between them (I'm thinking more about kayaking than swimming, for which I think it will be too cold in any case)? Will anything be in bloom--dogwoods, azaleas, etc?

Lastly, would anyplace be preferable from the perspective of the less-addicted-golfer spouse? We'd like to play some golf together--along with tennis, beach walks, etc.--but I'm wondering about things to do if one of us spent a little more time golfing than the other...

Many thanks!!

Obviously, as you go north the weather gets colder. In late March, it can still get chilly in Kiawah as opposed to Amelia Island.

Amelia Island offers Jacksonville nearby. Kiawah is relatively close to Charleston. And Hilton Head is about it -- though you could conceivably trek to Savannah.

There's great golfing at all three locations, but for the most varied opportunities, I'd pick HHI. On Kiawah, you'll pretty much be sticking to their exquisite courses. And Amelia gives you some more offerings.

Since you could end up with cold -- I'd pick Charleston as the bad weather fallback for a Kiawah vacation. Consider also Wild Dunes -- which is just minutes from Charleston and has some decent ocean golfing.

Any place you go will greet you with great blossoms -- that's Masters time and, from that, you now know what that neck of the woods looks like during that week of the year.

Thanks BFH! But now you've got me wishing we were headed to Augusta!! Although I suppose we could drive from Amelia down to the TPC at Sawgrass...

Anyway, thanks again!

wlit, the weather should be almost exactly the same at the three places you've picked.

My least favorite of the three would be Hilton Head. Have you looked at Fripp Island? Very close to Beaufort.

I agree with the Wild Dunes idea.
