Tokyo Disney Vacation Package at very start of trip?

We’ll be purchasing a vacation package with unlimited rides for Tokyo Disney for our September visit and are trying to decide when to go since it’ll involve a hotel stay separate to where we’ll otherwise base while in Tokyo generally.

We’re thinking to do this at the very start of the trip as follows:
  • Day 1: Land at 5:45am (Thursday) à head to resort and check in, spend day entirely at our own pace at Disneyland / Ikspiari with an early evening
  • Day 2: Full day at DisneySea

I’d imagine this would be too much to chew in most instances but thinking it might work in our situation noting:
  1. We’re on an overnight flight from Sydney in business class and that time of year only have a 1 hour time difference, so we’re hoping to be fairly well rested
  2. We’re actually not that interested in Disneyland (day 1) but rather Disneysea (day 2) but would have tickets to both with the vacation package – so on day 1 we’d be doing whatever takes our fancy/fits our energy levels entirely at our own pace since it’s the park of less interest to us (and for this same reason, even if our flights are delayed, day 1 is fairly inconsequential for us).

Has anyone done this and would you recommend it? I think in our circumstances we can make it work but keen to see if others have done this and how it’s gone down.

Once you enter a Disney park, all rides are included for everyone, so I don't know what 'unlimited rides' means.

The most important ride to do in Tokyo Disneyland is the Whinnie the Pooh ride. If you don't get there first thing, it will. be the longest wait. If they still have Fast Pass, then make sure you get one. But you'll want to go there first. When the park opens, many people head straight there.

I've done TDL and Tokyo from the same hotel, twice. So no moving. It all depends on what you are comfortable with. The subway system is so easy to use, it doesn't really matter where you stay. YMMV

ALso, I've done TDL the day after I landed, from America. We had about a half day our first day, in which case we visited Asakusa and Akihabara before going to bed and getting up very early the next day for rope drop.

We'll be getting a vacation package so we have skip the queue passes for a number of rides (including the one you mention) - it's like the premier pass but without the 60min time bar per use.

Excellent! You'll be in great shape. Both parks have impressive shows/events too.
