Looking for suggestions for apt rentals in HNL that have a great ocean view. It can be a studio (with a regular bed) or 1 bedroom for 2 people. Access to public transportation is needed. Rental rate ~$300 a night. Any recommendations are appreciated.

You might want to check out the Waikiki Banyan or Waikiki Sunset condos — both have great ocean views, are within your budget, and are close to bus lines.

If by "HNL" you mean staying in Waikiki, it's a fairly small footprint. 2 miles from Kapiolani Park (DiamondHead end) to Fort deRussy at the other end. And only 1/2 mile between the beach and the Ala Wai canal, which is the 'backside' of the Waikiki district

Are you trying for a place with a kitchen, when you say "studio"?

I have a number of favorite places in Waikiki but none in that price range I' ev stayed at with "great ocean views". Maybe check Park Shore or Queen Kapiolani?
