Jekyll Island Vacation Rental Recommendation
It has been awhile since I planned a vacation so I'm a little rusty! We have never been to Jekyll Island and are looking for a low key, relaxing week. I searched the forum and saw that Starrs and a couple of other posters are fans so I decided to take their advice.
Looking for a 2 BR/2 BA rental for late June (I know it is last minute) for around 4K for a week. Plan is to fly to JAX and rent a car mostly for convenience.
I searched for vacation rentals and the available properties all seem to have great ratings with very similar wording from reviewers which is really odd. So, if you have any recommendations please post. Two of the properties had warnings about beach access during high tide. I am not sure how this can be avoided.

I don't know anything about lodging. but TripAdvisor is probably the best source. However, here is a description of what to see/do: Jekyll Island offers a variety of amenities, including 10 miles of beach, a 250-acre Historic Landmark District, a nature center, the Georgia Sea Turtle Center, and Summer Waves Water Park. By law only 35% can be developed which leaves remote beaches, maritime forests and salt marshes for exploration. With 22 miles of picturesque paved paths and trails, biking offers a relaxing way to see all of the island's hallmark points of interest. One Fodor’s poster says, “Driftwood beach is a good stop on the north end of the island. We love the Sunrise Grill for lunch. It’s in the downtown area.” The Jekyll Island Bike Barn rents bikes.

Thanks PairieHikerl. Jekyll is less developed which appeals to me. My search on the forum didn't bring up new posts, not surprising since there's not much traffic here these days. So accommodation remains an issue. Many of the more interesting vacation rentals are already full so I need to wrap this up ASAP if we are to finally have a vacation!
