I am visiting the Yucatan with a large group in April. We will be spending most of our time at a beach house in Progreso - but I want to organize at least one visit to Merida. What day of the week is the best to visit the city? Sunday?

I would choose a Sunday. People come from around the area and set up craft and food stalls boot in the Plaza Grande. There will are often performances in the street in front of the Palacio Municipal and in the evening musicians and dancing in the same street. The beaches tend to be crowded at weekends so Sunday could be great day for the city
