Pattaya is a very much "like everybody else" =place - very urban destination. You might like the various monuments around the bay 0- e.g. Big Buddha and the Naval Monument or even the Pattaya sign (like the Holiwood sign).
For beaches, you'll find the smaller ones betwen Pattaya Beach and Jomtien are less crowded.
But if you get transport, you can head South to Ban Sare, Ban Amphur - which are less familiar with those in the city.
Also there are a lot of islands in the bay apart from Koh Larn if you find a boat going there.
Down the coast in Koh Samet with resorts and beaches.
North of Pattaya Sri Racha is an interesting town with an island (KOhLy) conneected by a causeway and from there you can get a ferry out to Koh SiChang - little island with a couple of beaches and the possibility of staying overnight.
North of there is Bang Saen - this is a beach town used mostly by Thai people at week-ends and holidays - more seafood than you could shake a stick at.
Inland the Bang Phra Reservoir is worth a day out - there's also the Khao keow Zoo homeo of that viral baby hippo Daeng Mo.
