Dubai Airport

Hi,

My family of five which includes two children -- 10 and 7 and a 90+ year-old mother are have a 9-hour layover in Dubai en route from Boston to Delhi on Emirates. Our flight lands at 19:25 Dubai local time and our next flight departs at 4:20am Dubai local time. What do you recommend for the most cost effective way for five of us to shower, stretch out and maybe sleep a little bit? Should we just book a local hotel or is there a cost effective way to do this without booking a hotel.

Thanks in advance for your guidance.
Namrita

You might want to register and post your questions on FlyerTalk. I've seen several almost identical topics about DXB discussed on that site (but didn't pay attention to the answers because I had no plans to transit through Dubai - so can't help with specific advice)

In my opinion if there is a gap between the flights then instead of staying in airport we should book a hotel room near by the airport. By this we can reach to the airport on time.

There’s a hotel inside terminals 1&3. Go here for details: https://www.dubaiairporthotel.com/du...airport-hotel/

As you have in your part a 90+ year old person and as it's a very long walk to check in you may want to consider wc assistance.

Just a thought.

For a comfortable layover with a family of five during your 9-hour stay in Dubai, booking a nearby hotel is the most practical option, as it offers private rest, showers, and a chance to sleep. Look for hotels close to the airport for convenience. While there are alternatives like airport lounges or sleep pods, these may not be as accommodating for a family of your size, especially with an elderly member. Prioritize comfort and rest for your family's well-being during the layover.
