Travel Agent - Accessible Travel

Anyone have a recommendation for a TA to plan a trip for my husband and I who is familiar with traveling with mobility issues? My husband had a stroke a little over a year ago. He has to use a wheelchair for sightseeing. He really wants to see London.

if you can PM me with any recommendations it would be appreciated. Or post ideas as I’m not sure the forum allows you to name names.

Sure - its OK to name names and/or recommend providers. I know you've traveled a fair bit - not sure a travel agent would have better info than you have yourself.

The main differences being you'll probably want to book an accessible hotel room - most London hotels have them, and of course use taxis and buses instead of the tube. And a car service like justairports from LHR to your hotel. https://www.justairports.com

Most sites are accessible. And those that charge admission usually offer free or greatly discounted tickets plus you as your DH's 'caregiver/companion' would get free entry.

This site has some useful information for disabled visitors https://www.sagetraveling.com/london-accessible-travel

They also do packages -- but I wouldn't think that's totally necessary https://www.sagetraveling.com/london-accessible-holiday

You don't need a TA to arrange wheel chair services in he airports - you set that up with the airline.

Thanks Janisj - I’ll take a look at that site.

Yes we’ve traveled quite a bit pre-stroke. Usually independently or via private guide. I’m not as concerned with hotels and airports as navigating the city and possibly outskirts. Perhaps the site will give me some ideas. Thanks again.
