Travel woes
The name on my plane ticket doesn't’ match the name on my passport. The ticket has my first and last name, but my passport has my fist, middle and last name. I cannot get the airline agent to include my middle name. She says she is attaching documentation to say that my name does match my passport, but it makes me uncomfortable to count on that.

Hello again. I haven't traveled overseas since the pre covid days, but I still have records of my plane tickets. I looked back and some have my middle name and some don't. My passports have always had my middle name.
I think you'll be OK.

I think you will be ok as my passport has full first name, middle initial and full last name. I have noticed on plane tickets; they can't always fit my full first name let alone my middle initial. I often get my first name abbreviated.

Thanks, everybody! Once I was traveling from Lafayette, LA, and the desk agent refused to accept my passport because the travel agent, a friend of DH, used my nickname Sally on the ticket instead of Sarah. She finally relented when I showed her a pill bottle with Sarah ( Sally ) last name on it.
That was the last time I used a travel agent! That incident has made me a little paranoid about passport and ticket matching.
The will be our first international since Covid. I can’t wait! I used to travel internationally several times a year since the nineties.

My husband has for many years used his first name as his middle name, but his passport is of course in his legal name. The only time we've had a problem was when we flew to Hawaii and decided to use the new driver's license form of ID for travel. That was fine on the outbound flight but coming back the security folks were disturbed. From now on he'll only use his passport.
