Road trip from Kentucky to Waco Texas

We are a family of 4 (2 adults and 2 children 7&13). We are looking to travel to Waco Texas to Magnolia Farms in June. We want to make a road trip out of it. Any suggestions on the most scenic route to take and must-see attractions?

How long? And what part of Kentucky?
You could drop south to Nashville and into Alabama. The Civil Rights memorial in Montgomery is quite incredible.

I always say--get a map and stick pins in it and connect the dots and see where it takes you.

We live about an hour south of Louisville. We were debating on driving down through Nashville to Memphis, then Mississippi or to Memphis and then through Arkansas. We are thinking for about 10 days. We haven’t committed on doing this road trip, since we have a 7 year old boy with lots of energy and don’t know if he would do well on a journey like this. 😆

If you have that long I would definitely include a swing through Alabama and then over westward.
