Hi Bethe! Glad you're coming! March is a great month for skiing in Utah. Be sur to take lessons. You will have a much more enjoyable time. Skiing is easy & fast to learn if you take lessons, a real struggle & no fun at all if you don't.

Sundance's restaurants are excellent, as is Redford's restaurant, Zoom, in Park City, We just had dinner there last night & it was very good. shopping & gallery browsing on Main Street in Park City is fun. You might like to check out the Utah Olympic Park if it is open again to the public after Olympic tear-down.

Have a nice trip. Utah is a friendly place.

Salt Lake is also a great place to browse and eat. Try a private club called The New Yorker or an Italian restaurant, Fresco's. Both fairly pricey but well worth it. Have a great time.

Hi Bethe,
We have been to Utah several times and enjoyed it each time. I'm not sure if it runs in the winter, but the Heber Creeper is an old steam engine train ride through the mountains. The tours gives you an excellent history and you see some great scenery.

We enjoy Temple Square, the Mormon History Museum, Mormon Handicrafts and other areas related to Mormon history and culture. The Tabernacle Choir is very impressive if you are into that kind of music. We enjoy geneology and the Geneology Library is I believe the largest in the world. In a matter of minutes, we traced our roots back to the middle ages!

Trolley Square is a small shopping center with boutiques. If you like a unique experience, try the Rodizio Brazilian Restaurant there. They have a great Brazilian/American food bar and servers bring skewers of all different kinds of meat to your table right off the grill. We usually go there for lunch and the food is so good and plentiful that we skip dinner and sometimes breakfast the next day.

There is a lot more to see. Have a wonderful trip.

Zoom is very good but I think the best in Park City is 530 (or is it 510?)---it's at the top of Main Street on the left side. Ask though since you'll need reservations. Park City is charming--wonderful shops and galleries, even while the Olympics were in full swing. We're going back to see it in the summer.

I agree with Dayle about taking lessons and would just like to add a recommendation for either taking a private lesson or having someone who skis work with you one on one. My first attempt at skiing, I took a group lesson and hated it - not enough time and individualized instruction.

In Park City, we enjoyed dinner at a french restaurant (the name escapes me now) - it's right on main street and located in the basement of one of the buildings and also Sunday brunch at the Stein Erikson lodge. A hot air balloon ride over Park City and the ski areas was also great.
