Things to do in Scottsdale with small children

My young children and I will be traveling with my husband on a business trip. We are staying at the Princess(Fairmont I believe) and trying to get some ideas of kid friendly things to do and places to eat. Can you help?

There is a mini-golf not too far from you - I think called Cracker Jack's. It's on Scottsdale Road. The princess has a couple of huge pools which the kids will love. There's a TGIF nearby for food, plus go to the burger place beside Krispy Kreme (called In & Out), but it's new AND the best burgers.

There is also Rawhide down the street from you. It is a western town with all kinds of activites for kids. In that area, there isnt too much to do that you dont have to drive too far to get to. I live in Arizona and there is lots for kids to do - but not too much in that area. Good luck!

There's a great park called McCormick Railroad park at the corner of Scottsdale Rd & Indian Bend. Aside from a lot of great playground equipment, they have a train that runs every 15 minutes and a carousel that runs every other 15 minutes.
Also, the Phoenix zoo is great! Lastly, I don't know how old your children are but every year when we're out, we make a visit to the Phoenix science center downtown. It's a wonderful hands-on museum.

I can't remember the name of the tour company, but they let you feed the coyote's at nite. My children loved it. Basically you spread peanut butter on their little hands, and the Coyote's come out of the desert and nibble it off.

Thanks so much for the ideas. I will definitely do all of them. I am hoping the pool will be warm enough to do that quite a bit.

The Railroad Park is a big hit. You might also want to visit the Hall of Flame (firetruck museum)

Visit the Sugar Bowl in downtown scottsdale for a great old fashioned ice cream parlor.

Drive out to Fountain Hills and see the world's tallest fountain. Then drive north to Rio Verde and back to the hotel - very nice desert

Erin: When will you be out there? Last year we were there the first week of April and it was unseasonable chilly. It didn't stop our kids from going swimming every day since the hotel pool was heated and from what I've heard, most are.
