Hey, Linda, tell us about the cottages on the North Shore of Oahu

You answered a post regarding where to stay in Oahu and you mentioned some lovely cottages on Oahu's North Shore. But you didn't give us the name of the property or any contact info. Would love to have it.

Fran, the name of the property is Mokuleia Beach Colony. Unfortunately (1) I can't find my vacation file, so all I can tell you now is that the owner's name is Pat something and she lives in northern CA, and (2) I just researched the cottage on vacationspot.com (where I found it originally) and it seems to be gone.

Cannot recommend this place highly enough, if you're looking for a low-key, unpretentious kind of vacation. The cottage was an oceanfront duplex w/lanai, in a group of duplexes, with georgous grounds, and a pool, laundry room, and helpful personnel on premises. (we never made it to the lovely pool - the beach was 9 paces in front of us!) You need to know, the cottage itself was not "fancy-modern", more like "funky-cast-off" decor, but large, very clean and w/all essentials. No AC, which would have been VERY nice in Aug./Sept. And for about $100./ night! It was awesome. (the most delicious and romantic meal we had on Oahu was ahi, purchased fresh on the beach from the fisherman, grilled by hubby on that lanai with the surf and the palm trees and the bug candles.....)

If you're still interested, will try at least to find my cancelled check and the owner's name. Let me know.....

Couldn't resist doing a search on Google.com. Is this the place?

Yup, that's the one! Thanks, Joan, for saving me from having to dig through files over the weekend. Fran, use Joan's link above for info on the cottage. If you need any other info that I can help with, just ask.....
