October trip to Philidelphia airport & Mt. Laurel
Short notice demand business trip 1st week in October. Fly from So Cal to Philadelphia airport on USAIR on Sunday 10/6, work all day Monday 10/7 & fly home late 10/7.
My question is since I grew up in Seattle and love the Fall trees, wondering is there any recommendation for Fall drive around Mt. Laurel N.J. where the work is?
Also am thinking that maybe I should fly in Friday 10/4, stay Saturday 10/5 and Sunday10/6 to enjoy some Fall or other things in the Mt. Laurel area I have never been too.

Fall foliage is hard to predict. A lot depends on the summer weather. With all the rain we've had in the area this summer who knows if the fall colors will be any good or when they will appear.
Here is a sampling of the foliage in the Phila. area last year:

Thanks schmerl--appreciate the Fall picture from last year.
vjblovesitaly--agree it is not a short notice business trip.
The business trip itself is one Sunday travel day, stay overnight & fly home Monday next day, between 2 coast to coast flights in 2 days.
So, I was hoping there might be some good suggestions to stay longer with Fall in the area.

If you hope is for fall foliage, your best bet is go back into Philly and check out these spots:

I've been to them all, and I agree that they are good choices. The BEST (imho) is hiking or biking (you can rent) down Forbidden Drive in the Wissahickon Gorge. Stop by the covered bridge or grab a hot cider at the Valley Green Inn while on your way.
Note that this has been THE wettest summer in Philly history, and heavy rain has the POTENTIAL for great fall foliage. You also need cool, dry days in the fall AND dumb luck to be here during the peak of foliage. It may be great, it may not be. You might get a real blessing during your visit!
