Assisted Living/Retirement Homes in Ajijic/Guadalajara?
Does anyone have any information/experience with assisted living and/or retirement homes in the Ajijic/Guadalajara area? I've heard that there a few American-style ones that are much more affordable than ones in the U.S.
Any information, anecdotes, or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

We have several good assisted living/nursing homes in the Lake Chapala area. Here's a link to an article that goes into considerable depth on them.
At the end of the article there's another link to more information.
Here's the link ( a shortened tiny url version).

Just click the above link in blue to go to the article and the others listed there.
Hope this helps you. Sid Grosvenor

Sid,
Thanks a lot for your response. The article was very helpful. Also, one of the links has a great list of a lot of the Chapala/Ajijic houses. We're planning to go visit a few of them, so this should make it a lot easier. Thanks again!

Hi Carlita,
Sids article on Nursing homes is probably one of the best. Filled with information. You cannot go wrong with his advice. If you are planning to check out real estate or rentals in the Ajijic area see: http://www.accesslakechapala.com/rentals/
It's filled with information on the area plus has over 300 listings of real estate all around lakeside.
Hope that helps
Mario
