All Saints Day in Todos Santos, Guatemala
I was in Todos Santos, Guatemala for All Saints Day and was rather surprised that there were so few foreign tourists there. Todos Santos means "all saints" in English so it is a very special celebration for this community (and they also have an infamous horse race). I thought I would post the link to the photo album I put together just to let people know how interesting it is (and tourism would help their economy!). A lovely experience. http://ridingthebuses.com/2011/04/01...os-cuchumatan/
The setting is quite spectacular and so are the people, who are largely indigenous, of Maya descent. It is one of the few places in Guatemala where both the men and the women wear traditional clothes.

Thank you for posting these photos. I had forgotten how much I really like Guatemala and its indegenous(sp?) people. I love their colorful clothing and also the way a whole village will wear the 'village clothing', essentially a uniform.
