We are getting ready for a trip to Sweden April 14 to pick up our new Volvo in Goteborg. Very excited about the trip, which includes the whole family (2 adults, 2 children under 8). We'll have three days in Goteborg to knock around before flying to Stockholm for another 3 days.

Volvo will collect us on arrival and handle us that first day, but I'm looking for ideas on the best day trips from Goteborg. We'll have the car, but are definitely open to using the trains given that gas is going to be crazy expensive while we're there. We'll explore Goteborg itself the other two days in this portion of the itinerary.

So where should we go? The children are well-traveled and well-behaved, so while it's important to note that they're with us, it is not as if the day trip must cater exclusively to them. Thanks in advance for your input!!
