Italian Restaurant in Samara
I'm writing this as my wife and I are in Samara on vacation. We remember hearing about an excellent Italian restaurant here run by an Italian lady. We can find nothing on it. Can anyone help?

Thanks, Jeff, we've seen El Manglar but Idon't think it is the one we heard about. We may end up eating there anyhow, however. We're starting to think that we are getting our destinations confused.

We ate at an Italian restaurant in Samara a few years ago whose name escapes me at the moment. However, we thought another restaurant, with pastas and other Italian food, called El Samareno was superior to the Italian place.
The Italian place we ate at was not the one on the main drag which is part of the hotel (can't remember that name either). For some reason I think the restaurant had a man's name.

If you are still in Samara and haven't yet eaten at El Manglar, that ought to be your dinner destination. It is run by an Italian woman who does much of the cooking and the food is pretty good. Given the difficulties associated with being so far removed from the source of Italian ingredients, El Manglar manages to present a decent meal.
