For Diana and her Dad
I just thought that a new thread should be started for those who wish Diana and her Dad all good prayers and wishes, rather than searching through the St. Barths post which was silly (IMHO).
As the noon hour approaches, you are in my thoughts !

Aw, gee you guys... Sniff.
You are so sweet, and I can't tell you how much I appreciate the sentiments. I was just getting ready to find the St Barths thread and thank those of you I hadn't yet.
I am getting ready to go home and patk myself by the phone. I should be hearing something any time now. I've had enough of cancer for one year - I hope things are going well and the doctor got a good night's sleep last night.
I've been out of sorts for months now, and I'm praying for a good outcome.
I REALLY want to get back to the days when I could read all about my "fodor family" travels.
Thank you all so much. It means a lot to me.
owa, you are in my thoughts too.

Just to clear up my confusing post. I should have said "I just came from the cancer center where I volunteer". Sorry about that. I know what a toll cancer takes on family. My mother had cancer in three locations over a span of years. After being at the cancer center for three years, all I can say is "cancer is the pits". I have stronger words, but can't say them on this message board. Again, take care. Owa

Thanks again, everyone.
My Dad is out of surgery and the doctor was very pleased. He said it went faster and more smoothly than he was expecting.
They will not know if he will need chemo until after the path report on the lymph nodes and tumor.
owa, I remembered your saying you were a volunteer on my other thread in late Sept (I think). I realized that AFTER I hit 'post my reply.' Sorry if I caused any confusion. quot Sleep deprivation is catching up with me.
What you do is so important to any of us who have been in this situation. I remember going to chemo with my Mom and our noticing how many cancer patients were there alone. Just a kind word can make all the difference...
I'm off to bed, and thank you again to my fodor friends for making a tough day a little easier.

Diana,
I know how you feel I've been there - done that.
Just before we moved to the US my Dad died (age 63), I felt so bad leaving the UK but my Mom insisted that it was a good move and my Dad was so proud and he'd told everyone that his DD was moving to the US - so I had to go or he'd be a liar
Best wishes for you and all of yours and don't forget to tell your Dad (and mom) how much you love him.
Those were the last words I said to my Father and his last words to me were "I love you too" this does give me some comfort.

Diana,
My prayers and thoughts are with you,for a good outcome.
I have had 2 uncles die from Cancer,1 from Lung Cancer and the other from Prostate Cancer.
Just get plenty of rest and stay strong for your dad.
