See-through plastic bags for toiletries going through airport
Hello all,
We are going to Greece for a short holiday and recently when leaving London , it is no longer necessary to separate one's toiletries as one goes through security and therefore no necessity for the see-through bags to separate one's toiletries and my last one broke. I don't know if Athens airport requires this when returning - can any one recommend the best product to buy from Amazon that fits with the specifications for these please. Thnk You

Why not just use a one litre/quart sized ziplock bag that you can buy anywhere?

The UK is a special case -- they have installed new scanners and liquids no longer need to be separated (not sure if they are operational at all UK airports but they are a LHR and LCY). But you still need the quart sized baggies in a lot of places. You buy special zip locks?? I've used just regular run-of-the-mill Gald or Zip-Lok quart bags since day one of the liquids requirements years ago. Absolutely no need for anything 'special'.

At my home airport in Austin, TX they stopped asking us to take liquids from our bags a few years ago. I found the same in Helsinki last year. I didn’t think clear baggies were required, but I still use them for convenience. If something spills, it's best if it's confined to a sealed baggie.

I recently read that Heathrow has scrapped liquid limits altogether. Up to 2 liters anyway.

At my home airport and several other US airports I've transited through in the last few years -- those with Pre✅ or Clear haven't had to remove the liquids bag but those in the general security line usually do.

Ok, that's good info. I've had pre-check for so long, I've forgotten what it's like not to. 😀

"Liquids in containers up to 2 litres can remain in cabin bags and be taken through security in all terminals (T2, T3, T4 and T5). Remember refillable metal or double walled containers must be emptied but these can be refilled once through security."
