Prague - March 13 - 17

We will be travelling with our college daughter. Things on our list are the Clementinum complex, astronmical clock, smallest house in Prague, Charles Square, Prague Castle, Infant Jesus of Prague, learning about Cubist architecture, take pic of Dancing House, visit the Estates Theater, see the "Narrowest Lane," maybe do an underground tour. Any other suggestions? Cesky Krumlov is probably not something we would want to do, as it takes awhile to get there, and it looks sparsely populated.

My husband says he wants to see something at the Estates Theatre (special to my husband because this is apparently where Mozart performed during his lifetime). We were hoping to get 3 tickets to see something there with the focus being Mozart's music, however, I don't see anything going on there from March 13-17. Any suggestions on what to see?

I found a "Jazz Dock" concert that we could see on March 16. It is located in Prague 5 and it is located in a modern glass building on a pontoon on the riverbank (situated on the Vltava River). We would get a table. Is this something that is popular to do? I don't want to go there and be the only people there. We like Harry Connick Jr and Andrea Bocelli, etc...and I heard some of the younger people like this kind of music too, so I was hoping my college age daughter might see some people closer to her own age as well.

Any suggestions on things you loved or hated? My husband is looking at The Julius Prague for our hotel. What do you suggest? Restaurants, etc??

We Loved Prague and its monuments, we visited the Prague famous Charles Bridge ( Karluv Most), Old Town Square, St. Vitus Cathedral and castle( the largest castle complex in the world), historical Astronomical Clock which is still functioning, Jewish Quarter.
For s.thing different than the historical monuments, we visited to the amazing Zoo.
The Julius Prague hotel is a mix of history and modernity and its location is perfect to explore the city. Nearby, the Fame restaurant offers tasty food. We had also a great experience at Sia restaurant.

We lived in Vienna for many years, and Prague was often a weekend destination.

If you're into quirky things, the "Narrowest Lane" and the "Smallest House" would amuse you. I might skip the underground tour; there's a lot of better medieval history above ground, especially in the castle complex. If the crown jewels are on display that would be worth viewing.

I would put the Klemintinum and the Strahov Monastery above the Dancing House, but that's me.

Many of the underground subway stations are their own works of art, as well. Walking Karlovy Most (Charles Bridge) at sunset/sunrise can be crowded, but still lovely.

I spent two birthday weekends in Prague, and both times we dined at Deer for its modern Bohemian flavors. On one occasion we stayed at the Iron Gates Hotel (above the restaurant) because I prefer the old world charm to modern.

I adored walking around Kampas Island, which is the Western foot of Charles Bridge. It is an oasis at the heart of the city. It is also a highlight to to do a walking tour of the synagogues of Prague. You will want to see the Ungelt.

Prague is famous for its Black Light Theatres. The tiny black light theatre of Jiri Srnec is masterful, and I enjoyed it more than one of the big theatres.

There is a contemporary circus show every night you are there taking place at Theatre Jatka:

If you are interested in seeing dance, then the Fabrika arts center has a couple of exciting performances when you will be there:
