With the encouragement from Fodorites, we are going to Copenhagen in late February. We will be gone 8 days total, but expect to spend most of it exploring and relaxing in Copenhagen. Suggestions always are welcome, but a couple of quick questions.

I don't know that we'll tour more than one palace - which one would you recommend?

Will we be able to take a canal boat ride this time of year?

We're planning on a museum a day (there are quite a few!), interspersed with walking (umbrella in hand!) and strolling/browsing.

We will be staying near the central square, so things should be convenient - on arrival day, we expect to be tired and hungry. Would love a recommendation for a late casual lunch.

We plan to do a day trip to the Louisiana art museum, taking the train. Any other day trip recs for this time of year?

I love visiting European capitals' city halls, and Copenhagen's is magnificent. Many people just pop inside to see the entrance, but a brief guided tour takes you to amazing ceremonial rooms with a fascinating narrative on Danish history. I highly recommend it!

My favorite museum is Ny Carlsberg Glyptotek. For upscale dining, I love Marv and Ben's, and for a casual meal, Aamans 1921 has fantastic smorrebrod! I also loved Danish comfort food at the very homey Groften in Tivoli Gardens.

Thank you for some great suggestions. We frequently tour courthouses when traveling, but often forget what gems these old city hall buildings can be. A tour is now on our list!
The restaurant and snegl suggestions are great (though I fear that if we did a real snegl tasting tour, we would need to come home in super sized pants!)

I would make time to go to Roskilde, the Viking ship museum is pretty good and you also have the Cathedral, 20 minutes on the train.
