Perth

PerthHello,

My wife and I are planning a 3-4 week trip to Perth, starting in mid-December. We need recommendations for an area to rent an apartment in Perth for 2 weeks - walking ditance to restaurants, food stores, near an area where we can take long walks. Would it be advisable to break the stay with 5 days in Fremantle? Also, besides Margaret River, any recommendations for a road trip for beaches and nature. Thank you

So this is in 2 weeks time? And over the Christmas and school holiday period? I'm wondering how much will already be booked out. I've stayed in Fremantle and it was easy to reach Perth. You could do a week in each but if it was me, I'd spend some of that time driving south.

I would recommend the Swan Valley Retreat Hotel close to the city so you can both do the exploring and the hotel has great services, spa and even the price is very affordable.

Thank you. Have found some apartments available. We really have no timetable, minimum of 2 weeks.

I used to live in Perth and I have several detailed trip reports posted here regarding what to see and do, inclusive of several trips we made to MR and beyond.

You can find these by clicking on my screen name and scrolling through all of my trip reports (there are many).

I hope you don't mean this December.

I would suggest you take a look at serviced apartments. South Perth is a good place to start, but really you'll have lots of options.

Will you have a car the entire time? If not, you'll want to be near a train/bus stop and will need to look at public transport. Here are a few to get you started (I've personally stayed at the Adina properties).
