Pubs near ChurchHill War Museum
I am just finishing my final touches on our itinerary for Christmas week in London. We have plans to go to the Churchill War Rooms on Sunday morning.
I am looking for a place to have Sunday Roast afterward followed by some shopping (Liberty or a Christmas market.
The Wolsely doesn’t seem to be a traditional place for roast. Any recommendations?
The Cavendish in Marylebone?
The Chandos?
someplace in St James or Mayfair?
Thank you!

If you want to venture close to Bond Street Station, the Windmill is very good.

There are so many pubs, I am sure you will find something fab!

Sunday lunch in a pub is going to be pretty average. For somewhere a bit different and really good food try https://theportraitrestaurant.com/wh.../sunday-roast/ - Richard Corrigans place in the National Portrait Gallery. Also very good would be one of the Hawksmoor restaurants https://thehawksmoor.com . Seven Dials is very good and reasonably central and they are opening a new place in St Pancras which is looking spectacular! As mentioned above, essential to book asap

There are countless options all over the city - and yes one needs to book well in advance. But -- just an FYI the Wolseley does do traditional Sunday/lunch/roast - Yorkshire Pud and the whole thing. Sometimes with live jazz.
But if you want something convenient to the War Rooms, several nearby pubs do nice Sunday roasts. The Red Lion is about a 7 or 8 minute walk from the War Rooms, the Westminster Arms (less than 5 mins), Sanctuary House 7 or 8 minute walk.,

Thank you thank you! I appreciate the ideas. Yes, I want something somewhat close to the Churchill War Rooms. I emailed the Wolseley; they were quite vague about it so thank janisj for clarifying. The Hawksmoor looks great Catch23 and I remember The Windmill from last time were in London.
Shepherd Market is atmospheric and has a few pubs that I remember from our last trip.
