Hi! I have boooked a one-month stay in Paris with Paris Perfect. They require renters' insurance, but unfortunately the company they used to work with (Luko) no longer offers short term policies. I've reached out to PP, but they have no companies to recommend. If you have any recommendations, I´m all ears. Thank you!

IMPORTANT: It is French law to have renter's insurance.
When we rented with Paris Vacation Apartments, they gave us a recommended link. You might want to check there.
AirBnb I believe has an insurance link too. apersuader65's recommendation, Albinet, has shown up related to AirBnb posts.

The insurance I used for my daughter's stay-abroad independent Paris rental no longer exists, and OMG, was that all a nightmare in 2011-2012.

I cannot speak to French requirements, but it is typically insurance that covers one's personal belongings against damage from covered events like fire or theft.. It also provides liability protection if you injure someone or damage their property while renting in the dwelling.

Hi, thank you all for your help! In this case, more than for my belongings, it is to protect the actuarl apartment and damage to neghbors as well, I believe. I'll let you know when I figure it all out; hopefully soon

Travel insurance will sometimes cover personal possessions and public liability claims.

Yes AFAIK one needs renters insurance even for just a week's rental. Some travel policies might satisfy the requirement but be sure to read all the fine print.

Of course you need it for a week. I've only done short term rentals in Paris a long time ago but the agency always had people they worked with for me to use. It wasn't that expensive. I think it was that Albinet link. Paris Perfect isn't so perfect and I think even has illegal rentals. Their website claims insurance is included in your fee. There is a reason their website doesn't list their business address. I think they are incorporated in Bermuda to avoid legal cases.

Christina, I have to say that I always wondered about the legality of the Paris Perfect rentals.
Of course, I have no clue as to why I thought our PVA rentals were more legal, but hey, it's been awhile.
Things evolve. My daughter's study abroad apartment, which was super hard to find two decades ago and was offered only as a long-term rental then, immediately became a short-term rental after her exit. Given the population density of Paris, I, as a local, would have been pretty miffed.
