Can anyone recommend a hotel in Sydney? I need breakfast, friendly staff, a large surrounding area, and a swimming pool. 12 days, budget around 2-3k$

Use your exact dates if you have them. Saturday nights are usually more expensive than other nights.

I'm not clear about what you mean with "large surrounding area". Sydney is a city of about 5m people and city hotels don't typically have a large amount of undeveloped space around them. However, if you stayed somewhere like the Intercontinental, or Quay Grand, the Royal Botanic Gardens is just footsteps away.

The map will show you where everything is in the CBD - and Booking.com also has location maps. As you will see, Sydney has a lot of urban green space - Hyde Park abuts Elizabeth Street, Barangaroo is close to Millers Point/The Rocks.

Sydney Harbour Marriott has a pool and is close or on the harbour -great views of bridge ,opera house harbour and cruise ships. also an easy walk to Royal Botanic gardens. Is your budget AUD?

Shangri La Sydney is another good option with spacious rooms, excellent service and an indoor pool. If you want something central The Fullerton Hotel Sydney offers a great location and good breakfast options. These hotels are close to major attractions making it easy to explore the city.
