Montenegro seafront location for R &R
Hello,
We( a couple in our 50’s) are doing a trip to Bosnia and want to go somewhere for about 4 days by the sea to relax, swim, meander to some restaurants and generally just chill out. We are thinking Montenegro as we have already been to Croatia. I love open water swimming but am not at all fond of pebble beaches. I’m looking for somewhere to stay that has swimming platforms with direct access to the sea ( if the accommodation had private access, I’d be thrilled). We are going in September so not high high season. We won’t have a car so somewhere that is within striking distance of some restaurants and perhaps some sights ( walk or taxi). And though there’s a reason that the cruise ships go to Kotor, I’m not keen to go somewhere that’s over run with cruise passengers. Am I looking for the impossible? Any location and/ or accommodation suggestions would be very gratefully received. Budget is around 250 euros per night. Thank you in advance.

I think the sticking point might be your criteria for "sandy" rather than pebbly beach. So many along the Adriatic coast are pebbles. But this blog does list a couple, but might be off the beaten path:

Kotor is not on the sea, it’s on a (very large) bay. If you want to stay in someplace close by there where you can go in the water, check out Dobrota.
if you want to be on the sea, Petrovac is beautiful, and you can take a bus to Budva if you get bored. 250 euros is a lot for Montenegro, you should be able to find something pretty plush for that price.

Thanks for that link Travel Nerd- a really good breakdown of the various beaches. While I'm not keen on pebbly beaches, I LOVE swimming platforms concrete or wooden or even rocky where i can directly access the water and I believe these are pretty common in Montenegro so hoping I'm not being too picky!
Thanks Rialtogrl for those suggestions- I will check both out- I am finding that accommodation is either around €60-€100 per night or it's €600 per night and there is a distinct shortage of stuff in between. I am looking for a little bit of luxury but can't afford the really fancy places so that's why I specified an amount- that's the top top budget though!
