San Francisco - Muir Woods
Hi there! We are traveling to San Francisco for a week and thinking of driving from there to the Muir Woods or Armstrong Redwoods. What's a better choice? (first time for my 10 year old!).
Can you recommend places to stay around there? We're also thinking of popping into Sonoma, but Im afraid it would be too much for a 1 week vacation to see everything. Probably 2 days in San Fran, than renting a car and driving up to see redwoods and stoping either in Guerneville or Healdsburg.
What would be better and more interesting traveling with a child?
Any other recommendations would be so appreciated!
Thanks everyone.

You might want to ask the moderators to move your thread to the USA forum and tag it for California. Muir Woods can be a real hassle- you must pre-book parking and it does get crowded.
armstrong would be better. But even better IMO would be to go south and visit Henry Cowell redwoods state park and combine it with Santa Cruz,Capitola and Monterey/ Carmel
