Blue Lagoon Question
Hello, We are traveling this June with our 2 boys (10 and 6) to Iceland. We land at 6 a.m and are staying the night in Reykjavík before starting our ring road adventures. I know most people say it's best to do blue lagoon right after landing so you can relax and then reach your hotel in Reykjavík closer to check in time. Any experiences with doing it with children after a short cross Atlantic flight ? Trying the nap and go as well but looks like they want you to wait till arrival or closer to arrival time to confirm if it will be available. Thanks!

One thing to keep in mind is that Blue Lagoon is not designed for children per se as there is not any "play" areas. Your 6 year old will be required to wear floaties.
After a long flight, they may be more inclined to want to be active rather than to relax. But you know your kids best.
Many lodging places are OK with dropping off luggage while you explore if you need to come with a game plan. Reykjavik is fascinating, imho.
Personally, I plug through as long as I can on arrival day to set my cicadan rhythm and not nap on arrival. Ymmv
Edit: another option to consider is to maybe book the night before at your lodging and advising them when you're set to arrive if you absolutely must nap. You lose some of your reservation in terms of money, but might be worth it if it is an absolute necessity.

I was there two years ago. The Blue Lagoon was very crowded and advanced tickets were necessary. I don't know if that's still true but I would email the Blue Lagoon and ask that question. There are other hot spring pools on the Ring Road if you decide to skip the Blue Lagoon, and the others aren't nearly as crowded.

I know you probably want the blue lagoon experience but since you have small children, I remember reading about this place https://reykjavik.is/laugardalslaug. I haven't been but they have thermal baths and kid friendly things as well as adult which might be better suited. I think it's more on the local side so a difficult experience than the blue lagoon. I just thought you might like to take a look.
