Budget Palazzi Stays in Florence?
Hi! I was wondering if anybody knew of any old palazzi in Florence that have been turned into hotels, B&Bs, rentable apartments, etc. I care most about the traditional “vibes” of the space—is there still a beamed wooden ceiling in the room? Does the building itself show its roots?—and less about amenities, though a decent location within the city would be ideal. Also ideal would be a price under $150 a night (for a trip in early spring 2026). I’ve found some okay options but nothing quite like I was looking for. Thanks so much for any assistance!

I have stayed here and it was fabulous. It's in Oltrarno on the other side of the river from the Centro Storico. The property still belongs to a count and the couple who own the hotel lease several floors of it. They also own several other similar style hotels in Florence: Soprarno, Oltrarno Splendid, and the newest one right on via Tornabuoni, Stella d'Italia. (this one is pricier so may be out of your budget)

I have stayed here, but it's probably above your budget:

I would think there would be plenty of palazzi-turned-hotels, the trick will be to find old-fashioned/historic decor and a low price. Good luck!
