Madrid : Where to stay first time-short stay

Hello
We would love ideas for hotels in Madrid. We will be there at the end of our trip for only two nights..
We have never been to this city and appreciate suggestions on what part of the city to stay and accomadations.

Malasana is a great neighborhood. Short walk from most major attractions.

We enjoyed Room Mate Alba last December. A perfect location in Las Letras - on the map above. If you join their rewards program and book directly it's more affordable. Comfortable rooms and nice service.
