Driving from Montpellier to Cherbourg. Where to stop and where to stay along the way.

Hello, we are driving from Montpellier to Cherbourg and would really love some ideas on where to stop along the way. We’d love to see Mont Saint Michel but don’t necessarily need to stay there. We are on our way from Naples to Dublin, we have the trip organised as far as Montpellier and are taking the ferry from Cherbourg.
thanks so much

Battery powered car?

What time of year? Which year? What are your interests?
We could guide you into mountains and you want to go flat water punting.
Give us a bit more please.

Hi there. Yes thank goodness, hybrid. Leaving Montpellier around the 21st of July and sailing from Cherbourg on the 23rd. Rather than drive the fastest route, I thought it would be nicer to explore a little on our way. We would like to see quaint little villages and towns. Interested in art and culture and good wine. Thanks so much

Sancerre might be interesting. A volcanic plug surrounded by vintyards and a pretty church with lovely views
