restaurant suggestions Barcelona

We will be in Barcelona in May and are staying at the Hotel Colon. Does anyone have suggestions for good restaurants in this area?
Thank you.

I don't know where your hotel is, but on my two visits to Barcelona, my favorite tapas restaurant was Tosca Palau, which is situated directly opposite the Palau de la Musica and it's sister restaurant, Tosca Del Carme.

I don´t know the Tosca Tapas but I do know it´s only a 9-minute walk from the Hotel Colón that directly faces the cathedral.

On another thread, I recommended Capet, on Carrer del Cometa, a very easy walk from the Hotel Colón. Not tapas but a full fledged restaurant. Michelin recommended but not starred, also Repsol, Time Out and Macarfi guide recommended. Closed Sundays-Mondays.

Just an update
Quo Vadis was closed for 10 years and has recently reopened, according to this article.

El Gran Café is permanently closed.

Maribel, that's bummer. I loved El Gran Cafe and it had been around since 1920. What a shame and a loss to the city.

Yes, there have been a number of gems, real treasures, that sadly have closed.
