We will be spending 5 days in Normandy in September and have elected to stay in Bayeux as a centrally located but easy in-out place to take day trips (we will have a car, planning Mont St-Michel, D-Day beaches, Honfleur, Deauville/Trouville). We had a very good experience staying at Hotel Lion d’Or. It is historic and owned by the same family for many generations. No elevators but the staff brought our luggage up to our room. Their dining room was excellent too.

We had a very good experience staying at Le Petit Matin BnB. The host was charming and helpful. Breakfast was plentiful.

we stayed at La Colline several years ago, and really liked it. we were only there 2 nights, and ate at two really excellent places: Le P'tit Resto and L'Angle Saint Laurent, with a slight preference for the latter.

We dined at Lion D'Or on both trips to Bayeux and enjoyed it very much. Cheese cart and that kind of service. Memorable meal.

We actually stayed at a hotel a block or two away; can't recall the name, sorry!
There is a Calvados tasting room right in town with years' old Calvados. We brought a bottle home! It is powerful, though, and a little goes a long way. We enjoyed it most in an aperitif at Lion D'Or.

In 2015 I stayed at the Hotel d'Argouges for 2 nights. It was a lovely property with a charming outdoor area and breakfast room. I always wanted to return for a longer stay. In fact, we plan to reserve it again for our trip later this year.
