Walking the beautiful coastal towns of Brittany

Base; Belle-le-en-mer island, Roscoff and Cancale. Of course we cant go to France without spending time in Paris. We stayed one night in Renne to break the driving. We try not to drive more than 3 hours per day. Hindsight, I wish we stayed in Renne a few nights, I thought the city was very charming.

This was our first time in Belle-le-en-mer, we fell in love immediately. It was quite beautiful, the hiking was great, the weather perfect and the food was delicious!

View from our hotel room.

Hiking along the coastline was scary at times. Some path is a little too close to the edge.

I love hiking this island.

I will dream about this chocolate dessert!

Beautiful wildflowers

My favorite, I could drink the sauce.

😋

😋

Oysters for breakfast, why not?

I am enjoying your photos.

We had a lovely week on the Crozon peninsula at the end of April, enjoyed the walking there too with so many wild flowers out already, including lots of thrift/sea pinks.
We also like Rennes, which is saying something as we are not city people normally.

It's a shame it is so far away. Hated the long driving days to get there, something we aren't used to any more having had the camper to get there in the past and limiting our driving time as a result.

I have wanted to go the Belle-Ile ever since friends of mine were trapped there during a storm. They ended up having to pay for their empty hotel room on the continent as well as the hotel room they had to find on the island until the ferry started running again. And yet they loved their stay on Belle-Ile.

biboburgler, thank you. We are actually planning on going there. We are spending the day at Ploumanac’h

hetismij2, I love the wildflowers, there were so many. Most were the color purple or lavender.

Adelaidean, thank you very muc!💐😊

kerouac, you must get there soon and do one of your trip report. You will do it so must more justice. There s something very special about Belle-le, I am so happy my husband decided to take me to the island.

Such a simple dish of tomatoes and shrimp salad with tomato pure but it had so much umami.

The trails are well marked

Working for my dinner.

How can I forget the cheese course.

After Tuesday’s night dinner we had to go back to basic…

Steamed bun with mussels, I wanted to eat a dozen of these buns. And the cereal rolls.

Stay away from this

Grilled ham and cheese courtesy of my travel iron.

And this, crepe with salted caramel. My will power is losing. HELP!

Never having been a foodie, I still completely appreciate your beautiful food pictures, but I can control any random drooling reflexes.

Your excellent photographs of the landscapes really want to make me go there.
