Walking the beautiful coastal towns of Brittany
#22
I remember sailing in this area in heavy fog and having to keep watch for rocks. I saw a lobster pot "sail" by about 2 metres below sea level. I guess the fisherman had set his lines too short. But that water was moving seriously fast.

The sunsets at Roscoff was amazing. This was taken around 10:30
This was taken at around 11:00. We love the longs days because we could sleep in. Sometimes we would stay in our room until 2:00 pm. We would do our stretches and floor exercises and then do our long hikes. We are lazy travelers and don’t like to rush out the door.

Ploumanac’h, unbelievable pink granite rocks. This is one of our favorite walks in Brittany.

Do you see a dog face?
Such a cute house.
Surprisingly enough, the water wasn’t too cold.

Adelaidean, Thank you!
Cheska15, thank you for following along
lavandula, my husband didn’t want me to bring the iron, I accepted his apology.
Hetismij2, caramel sauce is my down fall. I had two crepes with caramel sauce yesterday after we walked 7.5 miles.

I hope you make it to Belle-Île soon, I would love your take on it. I loved it there, it was so peaceful and the view is amazing. I didn’t hear English spoken there or any other language. We managed with our elementary French.
I was surprise to see this jar in a couple of restaurants in Belle-Île.
if you haven’t been to Roscoff/Île de Batz, I highly recommend it too. Watching the tides come and go is mesmerizing. On low tides, it made the walk to the ferry very long.

Still along for the walk I hope it wasnt to bad a trip yesterday.
We used to stay near Meneham, along the coast, with fantastic rocks and houses built between them.
Now you've got me wanting to go back again!
bilbo, I had a look at your link. We walked along the Canal at Hedé first time we went to Brittany. We had intended to go back and ride it this last trip but didn't get round to it. A problem with pre-booking accommodation.
A favourite camperstop for us was in Neufchatel en Bray right next to a voie vert. One of the places we stayed on the way home was close to one but we didn't walk or cycle it - it was a hot Sunday and the route was packed with cyclists and walkers and kids and dogs so we decided to just relax at the house instead.

Hi hetismij2, thank you, for following along. We messed up by leaving Roscoff mid morning to head to Île-de-Brehat. Did I mentioned we are lazy travelers?
We got to Île-de-Brehat, it was nice and sunny, and the tide was still high. We started our walk, then all of a sudden I realized I didn’t lock the doors of our car. My husband said not to worry we are in France not America, but I couldn’t help but worry because I left my backpack in the backseat. It had the leasing documents, passports, money and extra credits cards. The leasing agents told us to protect the documents because it will be a nightmare if we lose it. I decided to take the ferry back to get the backpack. To make a long story short, the tide got very low, that means the walk to the ferry was long both ways, the walk to the parking lot was far, then it started to rain on my way back to the ferry and I didn’t have an umbrella or a rain coat because it started as a very beautiful day and I didn’t think I would need it. I was determined to see Île-de-Brehat wet shoes and clothes. But I got to see very little. From what I saw, I thought it was very charming.
We will plan on coming back.

Whew! I was worried there for a while.
Gorgeous photos, and a great excuse to return! Glad the backpack was safe, and I think you were right to worry, thieves are everywhere. Such a shame it messed up your trip though it could have been much worse.
I love Brittany. If I spoke French well enough I'd seriously think about moving there.

Found my favorite cute of French fries, it is so good.
Sculptures of Abbe Fouré, in Rothéuf. He couldn’t hear or speak and was partially paralyzed.
💐
Some has scary looking faces.
There are thousands of these baby mussels just in one sections of this cliff where that sculptures are located
View as you are approaching the cliff.

View from our room
We can see a very tiny Mont St. Michel.
The hotel has a beautiful garden, with herbs, cherry trees, vegetables, roses, beautiful flowers, and my favorite, raspberries. Everything was pretty much closed yesterday so we ended up having fresh raspberries for dinner. Hard to get good raspberries back home.
Our alarm clock. They also have Scottish cows and chicken in the property.
Forty year old oyster
Red shrimp that are so sweet! I have been making sandwiches with these shrimps.
The oysters are so plump and sweet!
24/7 🦪.

your photos are wonderful! we were on a brief trip to Normandy a few years ago and got as far as Cancale, to spend the night and dine at Olivier Roellinger's hotel. we had a lovely afternoon stroll and oyster lunch platter like the one in your photos, that will forever be one of our fondest memories. I dream of going back to Brittany and starting in Cancale. was it easy to organize your itinerary? do you stay in one place for several nights and take walks from there each day, or are you moving every or every other day?

Rampart
The best French Fries! Every piece was crispy.
The ramparts in St. Malo is always an enjoyable walk.
I can eat crepes with salted caramel everyday. I had two the other day. I need to work on my self control.
