Best City to Stay in in Gudbrandsdalen, Norway?
Hi fellow travelers!
My wife and I will be traveling to Norway at the start of June and really want to visit the Gudbrandsdalen Valley in Norway. Any tips on where to stay? Or, better yet, what to do? I've heard that Ringebu is gorgeous (especially because of the church...) but we're not set on anything.
We'd love to stay in / see:

We'd love to stay in / see:
- Pastoral views
- Farms?
- Forests?
- The lake, definitely
- Great, local hikes (nothing too strenuous, necessarily)

I like Lom a lot. The town is nice, good access to numerous hiking trails and somewhat of a Frilutsliv magnet.
Anyway. A little outside Lom, there is

Will you be renting a car?
Morten Schakenda's bakery in Lom would be the overwhelming reason to go there for me haha. https://www.bakerietilom.no/

Sognefjell gives you a fantastic and spectacular drive down to Sogndal and the Sognefjord

BTW, Lom also gives you access to the Geirangerfjord.
Elveseter is a 30 minute drive outside Lom, but in Lom there is https://www.historichotelsofeurope.c...m-turisthotell and the Røisheim is also on the Sognefjell road, just like Elveseter, but nearer to Lom https://roisheim.no/

This is all SO wonderful! I'm truly grateful! Thank you!
I think we'll be focusing on Lom, based on all you recommended! Thank you!
Do you know, by chance, anything about Ringebu, too? It looks great as well, and I wondered if you'd been there?

That's lovely too. It does pay off to look on google maps wat the general facilities are in or near a village. Most towns are very small ("a gaspump and a Kiwi"). Hence my preference for places like Lom: bigger, with a regional function, more choice in shops and restaurants. And still small enough to be enjoyable.
