Fall vacation loop Sacramento - southern Oregon - down No. California Coast.. Advice?

On October 22, 1924, Babe Ruth played in an exhibition game in Dunsmuir. The bidding for the only known photo (postcard) with Babe standing in front of the grandstands is now over $13,343. Bidding ends on 2/1.
There is a small plaque in the park in Dunsmuir. I have taken the train overnight between Oregon and Sacramento many times. The fare is not much more than a hotel room in Sacramento.

I'm looking forward to seeing all you, then! I'll be in touch closer in, but it looks like either Friday or Saturday night, October 11 or 12.
Very interesting about the Babe Ruth game, we'll go looking for the plaque.
I've confirmed reservations for 2 nights at Benbow in a Queen Terrace Room, and 2 nights at Little River Inn in a king oceanview. Thanks again.

I've got all the routing and lodging wrangled, thanks to all your help (including a night in a caboose ). Really all that is left is to dig up funky little museums and other interesting sights, etc. Hope to see you in October.

If you are going from Prospect Hotel to Trinidad, then it would be on your way to see the Oregon Caves. If you have not already been, it's a nice visit. I really liked the lodge, and we did a very short hike after we saw the caves. Nice views over the valley.
