I currently booked both these places (with reservations I can cancel). Both seem to get good reviews in all the usual places (google, TA, etc). I had first booked Manoir Atkinson, but then got some so-so response from people in this and other forums, so was having 2nd thoughts. I also looked into Fauna, but it is not available for 1 of my nights (in early November). I then booked a room at Voga as a backup. Both have similar prices, and from what I can tell seem to be in good locations.

Any thoughts?

Manoir had the better location, IMO. I didn't think the response here was lukewarm given that no one here has stayed there. Photos of views don't look that wonderful from Voga.

BTW I always look at the number of responses and Manoir has quite a few more.

I probably would not have picked up the second one,

Comparisons are difficult unless someone has stayed in both. If you are looking at reviews on another site you can contact the people who write the reviews if you have specific questions about a property. There is a place to click for that underneath all reviews.

Good point, and I would add has stayed there RECENTLY..

I ended up canceling Manoir Atkinson. 1 of the tour guides I had contacted about something else said Voga is more "sophisticated". Not exactly sure what he meant by that but when I read reviews more carefully, even though the overall scores on websites like TA and Booking, were similar, there were several comments that MA was "dated" and "noisy' (both from inside, squeaky floor boards and outside street noise). The noise thing did it for me. Also some of the other guides I had emails, didn't seem very positive about Manoir. They didn't seem outwardly negative, just said it was OK. Voga as a roodtop deck with views in all directions. We won't have our own terrace, which MA had, but if we want to take in the views, we just go to the roof.
