East side kauai at christmas???
My family of 8 adults and 3 young children are planning Hawaii for christmas 2018. We started looking to book on Maui, but it is just too expensive for what you get, (we are all wanting 1 and 2 bedroom suites with large grounds for the kids and a great pool) so we are now looking into Kauai, but the weather scares me, I don't want to travel all the way from Canada and it rain the entire time. We are looking at booking Waipouli Resort. Thoughts or suggestions. Thanks!!

The area of Kauai that is rainiest at the time of the year is the North ShoreHanalei, Princeville area). Kapaa will likely be fine. If you want more assurance of good weather, you will want to stay on the South Shore PoipuKoloa area.
Enjoy!

Are you thinking of a condo/condos? I have stayed in Kapaa at Kapaa Sands a couple times. It is not too expensive IMO. Take a look Christmas being so far away, there may be vacancies still. Kauai Condos - Vacation Condo Rentals at Kapaa Sands, Hawaii

Kapa'a is a fairly busy area but does have some good restaurants including the one at Waipouli Beach Resort but the east side beaches with a few exceptions (Lydgate, Kalapaki and part of Kealia) are not swimmable.
