We are waiting for a second surgery date for DH. If all goes well we will look into a trip to Cornwall next summer. Your kindness brought tears to my eyes.>>

It would really be my pleasure, Micheline. My DH has some serious health problems at the moment so i have some idea of what you're going through. Best wishes to you both.

Sad update: Irishface lost her battle with cancer and passed away on Thursday.

A sad loss, but it is wonderful she was able to enjoy this trip with her friend

Oh I am so sorry to have missed her. Only just found this. She has followed me on several of my Trip Reports and I was about to compliment her on this one and join in. Really sad.

If you look on the lounge, those who can, you can read nearly 60 responses as of this time to this sad news.

Thank you for posting this on the Europe board janis for those who cannot access the lounge. I had not thought of that.

Macross - it was a stroke of good fortune. When we arrived in Penzance we still did not know if it would be possible to meet or where she would be staying. But, they sought me out, left a message at our B&B and it all came together. It was serendipity that their hotel and our B&B were nearby on the Promenade along the water and that they recognized the name of the B&B as they were walking along.

Irishface/Jill was courage and strength personified and she was absolutely fearless to the end. What an inspiration. Thanks for sharing with us both your trip to England and your battle with cancer. Fodorville has lost a great one.

Irishface was and is an inspiration to us all - so courageous. May her shining example of that live on in Fodor's - a sad loss for sure.
