San Jose CA restaurant ideas

We have tickets for a show at San Jose Center for the Performing Arts in San Jose at 7:30 this Thursday evening and looking for a nice - but not break the bank - restaurant for a pre-show dinner. I checked the weather and it's supposed to be a high of 84 degrees, so maybe a place with outdoor seating would be nice, but not sure what's in that part of town.

We like just about any type of food, although I'm thinking probably not sushi or Thai.

Open to all suggestions. Anyone?

San Jose is a very spread out area, none of my recs are close enough to SJCPA to bother with.

FYI, San Jose has 1770 restaurant listings on my usual review site, not one of them scores five out of five stars. It's the world capital of mediocrity.

We double checked the maps, and if 15 minutes isn't too long of a drive from the SJCPA, a place called Frankie Johnnie & Luigi's is as close to grandma's house as any restaurant we've found anywhere in the world, including Italy. Try the Mostacioli di Bari and thank us later.

I know there is an Il Fornaio very close to the venue. Probably not what you are looking for -- but decent food even though a chain.

There are lots of nice restaurants at Santana Row.
It's 4.5 miles from Where you need to be. Have dinner, Uber over.

Lots of restaurants with outdoor dining- I like wandering aroun, dining in that area

We like to eat at Pizza Antica. Many unique pizzas. We like the fennel pizza.

There are lots of choices in Santana Row. If you like Indian food, Amber India is delicious.

I think the OP probably found something to eat by now, or has since perished from hunger - plans were for June Hopefully they Yelped it and found something - there are a lot of good restaurants near the CPA.
