Passport application question

I don't have a specific destination or dates in mind yet, but want to get a passport so I'll be ready when I make up my mind. Does leaving the Travel Plans section in the application that asks where/when you are going send up any red flags? Should I just make up a trip?

not sure so just make something up.

Paris - March 2008 should be fine.

p.s. I have no evidence if this is true but if you leave it blank it may drop to bottom of the pile since you are not in a rush.

In light of the current problem of getting a passport in a timely fashion, I'm sure many people are getting them for future, yet unplanned trips. Perhaps you could put something to the effect of "not yet planned."

I knew only the date of my next vacation, so I put it in, but in the destination section I wrote "to be determined". I'll let you know when (or if) it will arrive.

We left ours blank and it didn't seem to make a difference in the time they said it would take. If you're concerned, just write something in. They won't be doing research to see if you've already booked it.
