Driving Natchez Trace in early June

My mom, myself and my three kids will be doing the drive from Natchez to Nashville via the Natchez Trace Parkway June 8th-12th. The kids are 14,13,9 and are great travelers and accustomed to state parks, picnics, road trips, historical trips etc. and do well with it all. Any thoughts on do not miss attractions or stops along the Trace is appreciated. We will eat breakfast primarily at our lodging and pack picnic supplies for lunch and probably dinner. Dinner out will only be if there is a remarkable suggestion.

Day 1- Drive from our home in Arkansas to Frogmore Plantation for a Plantation/Cotton Gin tour in Ferriday Louisiana. Picnic lunch. Afternoon Natchez Old Cemetary, Natchez Visitors Center, Forks in the Road Monument, Bluff Park, William Johnsson house ( all depending on our time and how hot it is ) Stay in Plantation Bed and breakfast that night. I've found several that allow children and have guest cottages big enough for us all.

Day 2- Drive from Natchez to Tupelo via the Trace. Stop along the trace wherever we fancy (I have a guidebook that goes milepost by milepost that tells all the stops, have several picked out). Picnic lunch. Stay at Hotel in Tupelo.

Day 3 Explore Tupelo- really really hope that Elvis' Birthplace and Museum, church etc. is open then. We all want to do that so bad. If not then we will find other things.... Stay in Tupelo again.

Day 4 Tupelo to Nashville via the trace. Should we stay right outside of Nashville? Not super excited about Nashville, we go often. But we've never driven via the Trace.

Day 5 Nashville back to Arkansas- stop if we see something we want. Picnic when we want. Will be via interstate, hopefully, some rest stops will be open then.

Any other thoughts?

While I've been to Natchez multiple times with my husband , the kids and my mom haven't been, we could stay an extra day there and explore a few more historical sites?

I guess #1 would be to see if these sites are open to the public.

Yes. They are. Outside of the Elvis Birthplace- which I actually expect to be open by then. The sites along the Trace are outside and have never closed, the Visitors Centers are beginning to open back up as of yesterday. Bluff Park, Forks in the Road Monument are all open. Thank you though.

I drove the Trace in the opposite direction many years ago, thanks for reviving the memories. I took a look at my notes from that trip, and can add these places that appealed to me, maybe not to kids?

Belle Meade Plantation - https://bellemeadeplantation.com/ - but still shows closed,
Meriwether Lewis monument,
The “Only Petrified Forest in the Eastern United States, - https://www.mspetrifiedforest.com/index.php
The International Museum of Muslim Cultures in Jackson - https://www.immuslimcultures.org/
Port Gibson, Emerald Mound.

I spent one night sleeping at French Camp, a 100+ year old Christian school where students live in dormitory housing with a married couple as “parents, and for contrast one at the Silver Star Hotel and Casino at the Pearl River Resort outside Philadelphia.

Thank you so much. I was not aware of the Petrified Forest and I think the kids would love that! I had the Meriwether monument and Emerald Mounds on my list but will look at the other sites you mention as well.
