Restaurant Help!!

My wife and I will be leaving Saturday for CR. We have our hotels booked (Capt. Suize, Sapo Dorado, and Arrenal Lodge). Does anyone have any restaurant recomendations for Tamarindo, Monteverde, Arenal (La Fortuna). Don't want "elegent" dinners and would like to get away from the hotels for our meals. Like seafood, steaks, etc....I heard "El Pescador and Nogui's are good restaurants in Tamarindo. Thoughts, please.....Thanks in advance

I cannot remember the names of the resturants we ate at in Arenal, but there is a steak place there, just on the side of the road with a view of the volcano that is really good... it is in between the Tabacon Resort and Las Cabinas Del Fuego (or something like that)... FYI Gilligans in Jaco is the best deal and food in Costa Rica IMHO

The steak place near Arenal is called El Novillo, and it's terrific. It doesn't look like much from the outside (plastic tables and chairs on a covered patio), but the food is wonderful!
We also really liked Johnny's and Morphos Cafe in Santa Elena.

We just returned from Tamarindo last night, the best dinner we had there was at Geckos next to a surf shop. I had heard that El Pescador was great but my experience was not good!

I have already put my vote in for El Novillo several times. For Monteverde/Santa Elena Johnnys is good. If you can get to the Hotel Heliconia they have wonderful pizza and other food at very good prices. I have heard mixed reports about the food at El Sapo Dorado most of them not favorable. The rooms are supposed to be nice tho.
