Panama Canal curise

I am looking at various Panama Canal cruises, I notice that most do not stop in Panama, and just transit the canal. Is Panama City a must see? Which ports, if any should I look for on a full transit Panama Canal cruise?

Full transits typically sail from coast to coast, beginning in Florida and ending in one of several ports on the West Coast, such as Los Angeles or San Diego (or the reverse).
Fuente Amador the port for Panama City is the only one
you want in Panama.

www.vacationstogo.com has great full canal transit value.

Especially Princess the Love Boats over 70% off...

Cruise ships dock at either Colon 2000 or Cristobal on the Atlantic Side or anchor off the coast at Amador on the Pacific coast. Some cruises may only pass through the canal without a shore stop but most stop for at least a day to allow shore excursions.

Here's another option -

This is a week long cruise that allows you to see some of the best of Panama - you can have a few days after and/or before to explore Panama City and other parts of the country.

Cheers,
Andrew

Thanks for the feedback, I wasn't too clear in my original post, I meant what ports (besides those in Panama) should I look for on a Panama Canal cruise, this would include ports in Mexico and Central American countries. Except Mexico I haven't been to any of these countries. Or, am I wrong trying to see a little of these countries if I really can't see/do much with a few hours in port.
