Ensenada question (La Bufadora)
Hello, all, I've searched but the posts are either very old or unanswered.
I will be on a cruise, one day in Ensenada, and that's all, a short cruise. There are 2 tours offered to La Bufadora, one marked as physically demanding, another includes lunch and mariachi orchestra which is not appealing.
Found some taxis on the Internet which can take me on a round-trip to/from the ship. Is it safe for an older woman to take a taxi at the pier alone? Should I agree on the price before getting in?
Please help me with ANY advices regarding a day in Ensenada, never been to Mexico before!

Hi, Faina, I haven't been to Ensenada for about 4 years now, but I do think it'd be safe to get a taxi from the ship to La Bufadora. Ensenada seemed quite safe to me when I visited. Definitely agree upon price before getting in the taxi.
Have a pleasant trip, enjoy!

Hi Faina,
We're not going back to Ensenada until next month (driving down from S. California) but try looking at reviews on cruisecritic.com and see what some of the folks who have taken the excursions say and see if they appeal or not. Not sure what the name of the Carnival boat that does the Baja trips is, but the RCL boat is Monarch of the Seas. Hope this helps somewhat. I think Frankie's idea of hiring your own taxi driver is a very good one, you can go when you want and avoid the ones where the tour operator is getting kickbacks to take folks to specific shops or restaurants.
